President von der Leyen travels to India to reinforce bilateral cooperation and give opening address at India’s flagship geopolitical conference Raisina Dialogue.
On Sunday 24 and Monday 25 April, President von der Leyen will be in New Delhi, India. The visit aims to strengthen EU-India relations and deepen bilateral cooperation in various sectors.
On Sunday morning, President von der Leyen will visit The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), where she will meet young climate activists and visit the TERI-Deakin Nano-Biotechnology Centre.
Later that day, the President will address the International Solar Alliance to stress the importance of renewable energies also for bilateral cooperation between India and the EU.
In the evening, the President will participate in a dinner with Indian women leaders and entrepreneurs.
On Monday morning, the President will lay a wreath at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial. She will then meet India’s Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, then Prime Minister Narendra Modi and finally, President of India Ram Nath Kovind.
Before ending her visit, President von der Leyen will give the opening address at the Raisina Dialogue, a yearly geopolitical conference hosted by India’s Ministry of External Affairs and the Observer Research Foundation. Follow the President’s visit on EbS.
