Commissioner McGuinness in Italy to meet high-level officials and discuss sanctions against Russia, Basel III, Banking Union, the Capital Markets Union, digital and sustainable finance

Commissioner for Financial Services, Financial Stability and Capital Markets Union, Mairead McGuinness, visits Italy from 30 March to 2 April, where she will meet Daniele Franco, Minister of Economy and Finance.

Today in Rome, the Commissioner meets Ignazio Visco, Governor of the Bank of Italy, to discuss sanctions, the Banking Union, clearing and the Digital Euro project. She will then attend a working dinner with Confindustria to discuss corporate sustainability reporting.

On Thursday, she will participate in a parliamentary hearing with the Finance and European Affairs Committees of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate for an exchange of views on sanctions, the Banking Union, Basel III and the Capital Markets Union. She will then attend a working lunch with the Italian Banking Association. In the afternoon, she will meet Dario Scannapieco, CEO of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, for a discussion on sustainable finance.

On Friday, Commissioner McGuinness will meet representatives of the financial community in Milan. She will also visit the Milan stock exchange and meet with the CEO, Fabrizio Testa. On Friday afternoon, in Cernobbio, she will join the Ambrosetti Workshop on ‘The Outlook for the Economy and Finance’.
