The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of HERE International B.V. (‘HERE’) of the Netherlands, by Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan.
HERE provides digital mapping data as well as navigation and location solutions to various customers across the world. Mitsubishi is a global integrated trading company which develops and operates business across a variety of industries.
The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns, given the absence of overlaps between the companies’ activities. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
