On 25 March 2021, the European Union and Norway held their first structured dialogue on security and defence. The launching of this dialogue builds on the close and long-standing cooperation and partnership between the EU and Norway in the field of security and defence.
The exchange of views covered a number of issues, including EU defence initiatives, Norway’s involvement in EU Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) missions and operations, EU-NATO cooperation and the transatlantic partnership, as well issues related to the security in the High North.
