Brussels, 30 May 2024

This year, the Erasmus+ programme reached the milestone of more than 15 million participants since 1987. On this occasion, the Commission has launched today a data storytelling initiative giving easy access to information about Erasmus+.

Students, teachers, researchers, journalists and anyone who is interested, can now consult a wide range of aggregated statistics covering the period 2014-2024 in an interactive and simple way. It also gives a visual representation of mobility flows from one country to another and access to customisable dashboards. From the number of participating organisations per education field to the total number of projects every year, a wealth of interesting information on this EU’s flagship programme is now available on the Erasmus+ website.

In addition, a new podcast series on the Erasmus+ programme will soon be launched. It will be made available here.

Since its launch in 1987, the Erasmus+ programme has grown significantly and its scope has expanded across various sectors and activities. Erasmus+ provides support for mobility, transnational cooperation, and policy activities in education, training, youth and sport in Europe. Increasingly, it is also looking beyond Europe. Millions of people from diverse backgrounds have benefitted from the many learning opportunities offered by the programme, giving them a unique experience and allowing them to take their personal and professional development to a higher level.
