On Wednesday, 16 March, the co-rapporteurs of the Civil Liberties and Economic and Monetary Affairs committees will present their draft report.

The co-rapporteurs, Eero HEINÄLUOMA (S&D, FI) from the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee and Damien CARÊME (Greens/EFA, FR) from the Civil Liberties Committee, will hold a press briefing on their draft report: Prevention of the use of the financial system for the purposes of money laundering or terrorist financing (regulation).

When: Wednesday 16 March 2021, 9.30.

Where: European Parliament in Brussels, Anna Politkovskaya press conference room (0A50), Spaak building, with physical and remote participation.

Background

The anti-money laundering package sets out measures to strengthen the EU rules on combating money laundering and terrorist financing. It addresses the shortcomings of the current framework including ineffective implementation, weak oversight and insufficient detection of suspicious transactions.
