Frankfurt am Main, 2 October 2026

Europe’s Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) is inviting obliged entity representatives, trade associations and other representative bodies from the financial and non-financial sectors to express their interest in participating in sectoral roundtables on the application of simplified customer due diligence. The feedback gathered will inform draft Guidelines to support clear, effective and proportionate application of simplified customer due diligence.

Informing the Guidelines through sectoral experience

The roundtables will bring together stakeholders to discuss the application of simplified customer due diligence in situations presenting a lower degree of money laundering and terrorist financing risk, and to share relevant sectoral experience and practices. The discussions will inform AMLA’s own initiative Guidelines, which will support the consistent, effective and proportionate application of simplified customer due diligence within the applicable legal framework.

The meetings are expected to take place in person in Frankfurt am Main between 9 November and 2 December 2026. AMLA particularly encourages expressions of interest from representatives of the non-financial sector and of sectors that face specific challenges in applying customer due diligence requirements.

A shared effort to build a stronger framework

The roundtables form part of AMLA’s ongoing exchange with a broad range of stakeholders, which aims to ensure that the new rules are proportionate, risk-based and workable in practice. The discussions will inform the next steps in developing the draft Guidelines and support AMLA’s work towards a consistent and robust AML/CFT framework for the EU. The roundtables do not constitute a public consultation. A formal public consultation on the draft Guidelines will follow at a later stage.

How to express interest

AMLA invites stakeholders to submit their expressions of interest by 18 October 2026 at 23h59 CEST.
