Taxation

The Council will aim to agree its position (general approach) on the ‘DAC8’ directive which concerns administrative cooperation in the field of taxation.

Bank Crisis Management and Deposit Insurance framework

The Commission will present its proposals on the review of the Bank Crisis Management and Deposit Insurance framework (CMDI), and ministers may give their initial reactions.

Economic and financial impact of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine

The Council will take stock of the economic and financial impact of Russia’s war against Ukraine, focusing in particular on customs-related issues. The Commission will update ministers on the implementation of sanctions against Russia, focusing on the possible circumvention of restrictive measures on the export and import of goods from a customs perspective. Ministers will have the opportunity to exchange views.

Economic recovery in Europe

Concerning the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), the Commission will update ministers on the state of play on its implementation and ministers will have the opportunity to exchange views, including as regards the demand for RRF loans and the experiences with the RRF’s performance-based structure.

International meetings

The Presidency and the Commission will inform the Council of the main outcomes of the G20 meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors and the IMF spring meetings held on 10-16 April 2023.

Financial services

The Presidency will present the state of play of legislative proposals in the field of financial services.

In the margins of Ecofin, there will be a meeting of the Eurogroup on 15 May at 15h.

On 16 May at 8h, an economic and financial dialogue between the EU and the Western Balkans and Türkiye will take place, aiming to endorse joint conclusions.
