Norway provide more NASAMs to Ukraine

The Government proposes to the Norwegian Parliament to order a further ten launch units and four fire control centers of the air defense system NASAMS from Kongsberg Defense and Aerospace (KDA). This is done in addition to repurchasing the equipment that has already been donated to Ukraine. The investment is NOK 3.45 billion.

Norway extends agreement on medical evacuation from Ukraine

Since August 2022, Norway has been providing regular weekly flights to evacuate Ukrainian patients to countries across Europe. Ukraine: Switzerland implements the EU’s 12th package of sanctions

The Federal Council adopted further sanctions against Russia at its meeting on 31 January. This is in response to Russia’s ongoing military aggression against Ukraine. In doing so, the Federal Council joins the European Union (EU), which adopted its 12th package of sanctions in December 2023. The new measures will enter into force on 1 February. Switzerland previously added 147 individuals and entities to its sanctions listings on 21 December.

The Council today renewed for a further 6 months its restrictive measures in view of the Russian Federation’s continuing actions destabilising the situation in Ukraine, until 31 July 2024.
These sanctions, first introduced in 2014 in response to Russia’s actions destabilising the situation in Ukraine, were significantly expanded since February 2022 in response to Russia’s unprovoked, unjustified and illegal military aggression against Ukraine.
