Following the elections to the bureau of the European Parliament’s committees and subcommittees, Co-Chairmen Nicola Procaccini and Joachim Brudziński congratulated the newly elected chairs and vice-chairs. Committee MEPs elected Veronika Vrecionová as Chair of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI), Johan Van Overtveldt as Chair of the Committee on Budgets (BUDG) and Bogdan Rzońca as Chair of the Committee on Petitions (PETI).
The following ECR MEPs were elected to vice-chair positions across various committees: Alberico Gambino for the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) and for the Subcommittee on Security and Defence (SEDE); Pietro Fiocchi for the Committee on Environment, Public Health, and Food Safety (ENVI); Elena Donazzan for the Committee on Industry, Research, and Energy (ITRE); Mario Mantovani for the Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI); Charlie Weimers for the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice, and Home Affairs (LIBE); Francesco Ventola for the Committee on Regional Development (REGI); Giuseppe Milazzo for the Committee on Fisheries (PECH); Cristian Terheş for the Committee on Budgetary Control (CONT); and Emmanouil Fragkos for the Subcommittee on Public Health (SANT).
ECR Co-Chairman Nicola Procaccini said: “I warmly congratulate the newly elected chairs and vice-chairs. The ECR is known for and proud of having competent and experienced members on the Committees who will contribute constructively to the Committees’ offices. Despite the Left’s attempt to boycott us in all Committees, the positive outcome of today’s votes shows that the majority has shifted and the Conservatives can be decisive in this next five-year legislature.”
ECR Co-Chairman Joachim Brudziński added: “I extend my congratulations to the newly elected chairs and vice-chairs. The ECR takes great pride in having knowledgeable and seasoned members within the Committees, whose leadership will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of European legislation.”

In the committees on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) and Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL), the elections of the 4th vice-chairs have been postponed to the forthcoming meetings, while in the Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI), the elections of 3rd and 4th vice-chairs have also been postponed until September.
