Brussels, 10 July 2024

The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of joint control of a Fibre-to-the-home network from Digi Spain Telecom, S.L.U. (‘Certain Digi Assets in Spain’), of Spain, by Sota Investments (UK) Holdco Limited (‘Macquarie’) of the UK, Aberdeen Infrastructure (Holdco) IV-A, B.V. and Aberdeen Infrastructure (Holdco) IV-B, B.V. (‘Aberdeen’), of the Netherlands, and IAE-1 Holdco 4 Ltd. (‘AIP’) of the UK

The transaction relates primarily to the telecommunications market.

The Commission concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns, given the companies’ limited market positions resulting from the proposed transaction. The notified transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.

More information is available on the Commission’s competition website, in the public case register under the case number M.11518.
