El Salvador’s election last Sunday has been peaceful, orderly and yielded a clear result. The European Union congratulates the Salvadoran people for their commitment to democracy.
The EU looks forward to working on shared priorities with President Nayib Bukele and his administration.
The EU remains committed to supporting El Salvador on its modernisation path towards sustainable and inclusive economic development, and on consolidating improvements in security by strengthening good governance, the rule of law and social inclusion.
