During a working trip to Zaporizhzhia region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the command post of the 10th Army Corps, which is involved in the defense of our country in the Melitopol sector.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy heard a report from Corps Commander Serhiy Perets on the course and peculiarities of hostilities, as well as the military’s needs for weapons and ammunition.

The President also presented state awards. In particular, Volodymyr Zelenskyy conferred the title of Hero of Ukraine and presented the Gold Star Order to Major Maksym Zakharchenko, deputy commander of the tank battalion of the 116th separate mechanized brigade, for personal courage and heroism in the defense of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, selfless service to the Ukrainian people.

Thanks to the Major’s skillful actions and command of the subordinate tank units, a large number of enemy equipment and manpower were destroyed, which made it possible to perform combat missions in important areas of the front.

In addition, the Head of State presented the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi of the II and III degrees and the Orders “For Courage” of the II and III degrees to the military who distinguished themselves in the battles in the Melitopol sector.

“Dear generals, officers, sergeants, soldiers! Dear servicemen! I am honored to be here today, to greet you and award you for your courage, strength and heroism. To thank all those who are side by side with you. I want to wish you strength, not to lose the morale that definitely leads our country and all of us to the most important thing – victory. I wish you to stay safe, and I wish your families and friends to stay strong and healthy. And I wish you only one thing – victory!” the President noted.

The attendees observed a minute of silence in memory of all the defenders of Ukraine who gave their lives in the fight against Russian aggression.

The Head of State and the servicemen continued informal communication during the lunch.

“First of all, thank you for your great work. Stay safe! Glory to Ukraine,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

President visited the frontline surgical unit in Zaporizhzhia region where medical aid is provided to Ukrainian defenders

As part of his working trip to Zaporizhzhia region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the frontline surgical unit where medical care is provided to warriors within the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational and strategic group of troops.

The facility provides primary surgical interventions, resuscitation and stabilization measures. Up to 200 wounded people are treated there every day.

The Head of State inspected the wards and equipment, talked to the staff of the facility and combat medics.

“Thank you for your service, thank you for protecting Ukraine in such an important southern direction, for saving the lives of our guys. And take care of yourselves,” he said, addressing the combat medics.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented state awards to the medical workers and to the wounded defender.

During the conversation with the President, the staff of the frontline surgical unit told him that one of their tasks is to evacuate the wounded from the battlefield. The Head of State was also told about the need for armored evacuation vehicles with high cross-country ability.

President of Ukraine paid a visit to the brigades engaged in offensive operations in the Melitopol sector

During a working trip to Zaporizhzhia region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the positions of the brigades engaged in offensive operations in the Melitopol sector.

In particular, the Head of State met with Commander of the Tavria operational and strategic group of troops Oleksandr Tarnavskyi and visited the positions of the 3rd operational brigade named after Colonel Petro Bolbochan of the National Guard of Ukraine, the 47th separate mechanized brigade “Magura”, the 117th separate mechanized brigade, the 15th operational brigade named after Hero of Ukraine Lieutenant Bohdan Zavada of the National Guard of Ukraine, the 65th separate mechanized brigade, the 116th separate mechanized brigade, as well as the frontline command posts of the 46th separate airmobile brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the 118th separate mechanized brigade.

The President listened to the reports of the commanders on the course of hostilities in the frontline sectors within the area of their responsibility and discussed with brigade commanders and battalion commanders the most problematic issues of their units.

In particular, the military emphasized the need for means of electronic warfare and frontline air defense systems to counter enemy aircraft and UAVs. There is also a need for unmanned aerial vehicles, as they are quickly consumed in offensive operations.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the commanders of the military units discussed the issues of professional selection of people, providing brigades with special equipment and machinery, and the need for armored evacuation vehicles.

The President instructed to systematize the requests of the military, taking into account the information that was presented yesterday during the visit to the Soledar operational and tactical group, to submit them for consideration by the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and to convey them to Ukraine’s foreign partners.
