Kyiv, 6 April 2023

In Warsaw, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda took part in the Ukrainian-Polish business forum.

The event is aimed at strengthening economic ties between the two states. In the framework of the forum, Ukrainian and Polish experts and businessmen exchanged opinions on ways to develop and strengthen economic relations between Ukraine and Poland.

Speaking to the participants of the event, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that after the victory over the aggressor, Ukraine and Poland will have a great future in the development of the economy.

“In the morning on the way to Warsaw, we saw a lot of different cargo vehicles going towards Ukraine. And it looks very optimistic when business works with the country, when business believes in Ukraine, when business expands its presence. This is the most obvious confirmation that the country has a future. I thank you very much, Poland, for believing in the future of Ukraine,” said the Head of State.

The President thanked all Polish businesses and every company and entrepreneur for working with and in Ukraine.

“I am grateful for every production that works, for every job that creates welfare for Ukrainians and Poles, I am sure, for both! And despite any threats, any circumstances during the time of Russian aggression, various Polish companies continue to work in Ukraine. And I want to thank and applaud everyone who believes in our state, believes not only in our future, but also in our present,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

Separately, the Head of State noted the companies operating in the eastern regions of Ukraine, which are particularly often subjected to Russian terror. The President emphasized that economic stability ensures social stability and preserves normal life.

He also thanked the Polish companies that, since the beginning of the war, have been providing materials and medicines to Ukrainian medical institutions, which helped provide for Ukrainian children in Poland and internally displaced persons inside Ukraine.

The President noted the Polish business, which left the Russian market, showed humanity, not pragmatism, and thus made its contribution to bringing the victory over Russian aggression closer.

“I am sure that we will maintain all the economic and humanitarian mobilization of our relations when the very important and ambitious project of Ukrainian reconstruction unfolds in full force. We are already working together for recovery, but it is clear that this is only the initial stage,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

He expressed his conviction that Ukraine and Poland are capable of filling the entire space between the Baltic and Black Seas with new security and technological content.

“Our economic, energy, social, humanitarian, and cultural potential in the Baltic-Black Sea area will surely provide decades of growth for our peoples, for all of Europe and each of our partners,” the Head of State said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that all complicated issues of the Ukrainian-Polish agenda will be resolved.

“Because these are not difficulties – these are trifles compared to the strength and power of our friendship and partnership,” he said.

The President invited Polish business to join the reconstruction of Ukraine as a future member of the European Union.

For his part, Andrzej Duda noted that despite Russia’s war against Ukraine, the Ukrainian-Polish economic forum is being held, because “we are looking not only at what is happening in Ukraine at this moment, but also at what will happen in the future. Because we deeply believe in the victory of Ukraine,” he emphasized.

The President of Poland is convinced that after the end of the war, with joint efforts, Ukraine will be rebuilt, will become a more modern country ready for dynamic development and using its potential.

Andrzej Duda stressed that even now, during the war, Poland is Ukraine’s largest trade partner.

“Today we can tell our entrepreneurs that we will try to create the best conditions for their development. We would like you to take part in the reconstruction of Ukraine, but we also want you to cooperate with Ukraine after the war. The potential of such cooperation is huge,” he said.

The presidential couples of Ukraine and Poland also talked with representatives of Polish volunteer, rescue and demining services, which participate in the provision of logistical and humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked volunteers and rescuers for the significant support provided to the Ukrainian society.
