The Swedish presidency will give a presentation of its work programme for the coming semester in the field of agriculture and fisheries.

Ministers will discuss the opportunities of the bioeconomy in the light of current challenges, with a special emphasis on rural areas.

Animal transport

On behalf of the Portuguese delegation, ministers will publicly exchange views on the upcoming revision of the animal transport legislation, an essential part of the food production.

Income support measures

The Hungarian delegation will inform ministers of its wish to request temporary derogation for the maximum threshold when it comes to income support measures for 2023.

Imports from Ukraine

The Polish delegation will inform ministers of the impact of increasing agricultural imports from Ukraine on the local market and farmers.

Industrial Emission Directive

Ministers will receive information from the presidency on the state of play regarding the agricultural aspects of the revision of the Industrial Emission Directive. This item will be public.

Honey labelling

On behalf of the Slovenian delegation, ministers will exchange views on the possible revision of the Council Directive on honey. This item will be public.

Ensuring the EU’s resilience and global competitiveness

Following a request from the Greek delegation, ministers will publicly discuss the need for urgent support measures and a strategic approach to the agri-food sector in light of the impact of the energy crisis and inflation on EU farmers and food security in the European Union.

Global forum for food and agriculture 2023

Ministers will receive information from the German delegation on the global forum for food and agriculture which took place in Berlin on 21 January 2023. This item will be public.
