The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. (‘Atlas Air’) by Apollo Management, L.P. (‘Apollo’), both of the US.
Atlas Air provides outsourced aircraft and aviation operating services, mostly for cargo, but also for passengers, and is active worldwide. Apollo is a global asset manager active in portfolio investments.
The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns, given its limited impact on the relevant markets. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
