Brussels, 17 November 2022
The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of joint control of Aedes SIIQ S.p.A. (‘Aedes’) by VI-BA S.r.l. (‘VI-BA’), both of Italy, Apollo Global Real Estate Management, L.P. (‘Apollo’) and Hines International Real Estate Holdings L.P. (‘Hines’), both of the US.
Aedes is a real estate investment company, which owns a portfolio of 65 real estate properties mainly located in the north of Italy and used predominantly for retail and office space. VI-BA is active in investment, construction, development, leasing and sale of real estate. Apollo is a global alternative asset manager. Hines is a global real estate investment, development and management firm.
The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns, given its limited impact on the market. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
More information is available on the Commission’s competition website, in the public case register under the case number M.10892.
