Brussels, 12 October 2022

The Commission is launching two new calls for proposals under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions’ (MSCA) Staff Exchanges and Co-funding of regional, national and international programmes (COFUND) schemes. The 2022 COFUND call, with a total budget of €95 million, will close on 9 February 2023, whereas the 2022 Staff Exchanges call, with a budget of €77.5 million, will close on 8 March 2023.

Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, said:

International scientific cooperation is vital to boost Europe’s research and innovation capacities in these difficult times. The projects selected under these calls will allow our researchers, innovators and organisations to enlarge their networks, attract talent and share knowledge to carry out cutting-edge research for the benefit of our societies”.

MSCA Staff Exchanges support short-term international and inter-sectoral exchanges of staff members involved in research and innovation activities. These exchanges offer unique training and knowledge-sharing opportunities for researchers and innovators and prepare the ground for sustainable collaborative projects between different academic and non-academic organisations in Europe and beyond. MSCA COFUND allows any kind of organisation, companies, and regional or national authorities to create or consolidate their own doctoral and postdoctoral fellowships programmes and increase their research and innovation capacities by attracting international talent. The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions are the EU’s reference programme under Horizon Europe for excellent doctoral education and postdoctoral training. They promote excellent research, foster research cooperation across borders, sectors and disciplines, and boost jobs, growth and investment by equipping researchers with new knowledge and skills. The MSCA also fund the development of excellent doctoral and postdoctoral training programmes and collaborative research projects worldwide.
