Brussels, 29 July 2022

The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of Cimos of Slovenia by Mutares of Germany. Cimos manufactures and supplies parts and accessories for motor vehicles, in particular turbocharger and powertrain components. Mutares is an investment company mainly active in the acquisition of parts of large corporations and medium-sized companies in various sectors. The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns, given the absence of overlaps between the companies’ activities. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. More information is available on the Commission’s competition website, in the public case register under the case number M.10757. (For more information: Arianna Podesta – Tel.: +32 229 87024; Nina Ferreira – Tel.: +32 229 98163)
