The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of Plantronics, Inc. (‘Poly’) by HP, Inc., both of the US.
Poly is a global communications technology company that designs, manufactures, and markets integrated communications and collaboration solutions for professionals.
HP is active in the provision of personal computing and other access devices, imaging and printing products, and related technologies, solutions and services.
The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns given the limited overlaps between the companies’ activities. The transaction was examined under the normal merger review procedure.
