International Trade Committee Rapporteur Geert Bourgeois will give a press conference on Thursday, after a vote on his draft report on the future EU-India trade and investment relations.
The draft report calls on the Commission and the European External Action Service to deepen trade and investment relations with India by reaching an ambitious trade agreement as well as a stand-alone investment protection agreement and an agreement on geographical indications with the country. Talks with India are set to resume on 17 June.
