Launch of the brief by the Global Crisis Response Group on Food, Energy and Finance.

12 April 2022 — United Nations Secretary-General will launch the Global Crisis Response Group’s first brief on the global implications of the war in Ukraine on food, energy and finance on Wednesday, 13 April.

The Secretary-General announced the establishment the 32-member group, which includes heads of UN agencies, development banks and other international organizations, on 14 March in response to the potential reach and magnitude of the consequences of the war as well as the continuing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chaired by UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, the group will ensure collaboration across governments, the multilateral system and sectors – to help vulnerable countries avert large-scale crises through high-level coordination and partnerships, urgent action, and access to critical data, analysis and policy recommendations.

The launch will take place following the release of the latest Financing for Sustainable Development Report (12 April 11:30 a.m. EST), and ahead of the 2022 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group (18 to 24 April).
