The EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) enhances and facilitates trade between the two Parties by removing or reducing custom duties and also by eliminating regulatory barriers that get in the way of EU companies exporting their products and services to Japan. The EPA includes mechanisms that allow the EU and Japan to cooperate with a view to addressing the existing regulatory barriers and preventing new ones to arise. To this end, the European Commission has launched a survey to identify the existing regulatory barriers that hamper EU exports to Japan and the needs for developing or aligning new standards or technical regulations which would facilitate and enhance trade between the EU and Japan.

SURVEY DEADLINE: April 29, 2022.
