Brussels, 15 February 2022

The report explores practical approaches for banks who wish to use the EU Taxonomy. This initiative, supported by EY, involving 24 banks, 12 banking associations and 6 observing organisations, follows a joint project in 2020 that tested the application of the EU Taxonomy to core banking products.

The findings of this report will support banks to better understand the EU Taxonomy, its requirements, application for mandatory disclosure requirements, as well as further voluntary uses. It aims to effectively support banks in their regulatory implementation journey as well as their client engagement efforts.

European Regulators, EU Platform on Sustainable Finance representatives as well as bank and company representatives will share their views on the role the EU Taxonomy plays in their own sustainability transition journeys and give their take on engaging customers on sustainability and future developments in the field. The event will present how the contents of the report can practically help institutions, and what can be expected as next steps.
