On 23 October 2021, businesses and governments leaders from the European Union and the GCC will convene at the 5th EU-GCC Business Forum, taking place at Expo2020, Dubai, UAE.
‘Accelerating GCC Economic Diversification After the Crisis – The Way Forward’ is the 5th in a series of European Union (EU) & Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Business Forums held in Europe and the Gulf.
Expo 2020 Dubai’s theme, “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”, is based on the belief that bringing the world together can catalyse an exchange of new perspectives and inspire action to deliver real-life solutions to real-world challenges.
In line with this, the Business Forum aims to create unique opportunities for exchange between the two regions and will see high profile government officials discuss innovation and the way forward after the pandemic with leaders from both the public and private sector.
The EU-GCC Business Forum will dissect recent developments in both the European Union and Gulf Co-operation Council countries. It will discuss and elaborate on the right tools to sustainably support post-pandemic recovery towards the objective of a green and digital transformation. These strategies are important not only for Europe’s way forward but offer potential models and partnerships for other countries across the world including the member states of the GCC.
The event will bring together a multitude of speakers from Europe and the Gulf, including government representatives from Greece and Lithuania and the UAE, as well as high-level speakers from the GCC Secretariat General and the European Commission.

The Business Forum will take place at the Dubai EXPO2020 DEC (Dubai Exhibition Centre) Hall 2A South Expo and coincides with the occasion of the EU Honour Day.
