EU Commissioner Simson participates in the first High-Level Electricity Grids Forum

Brussels , Belgium

The forum aims to accelerate the development of electricity grids across the EU, by bringing together high-level industry leaders, policymakers and innovators. To fulfil our REPowerEU Plan to end our imports of Russian fossil fuels, and the recently agreed ambition to reach a 45% renewable energy share by 2030, we need upgraded grids and strengthened energy infrastructure. This is key to delivering the European Green Deal.

EU HRVP Josep Borrell travels to Georgia

During the visit, the High Representative will be received by Salome Zourabichvili, President of Georgia, on Friday afternoon. The HR/VP will also meet the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili. Following the meeting with the Prime Minister, a joint press conference will be held at +/- 12:00 local time (10:00 CEST) on Friday and broadcast live on Ebs.

EU Commission Executive VP  Dombrovskis travels to Lithuania for the European Semester

Executive Vice-President and Commissioner for Trade, Valdis Dombrovskis, will be in Vilnius today and Friday as part of Member State visits under the European Semester. He will meet the chairman of the Bank of Lithuania, Gediminas Šimkus; the Prime Minister, Ingrida Šimonytė, and the Finance Minister, Gintarė Skaistė. The key themes will be Ukraine, China, Rail Baltica and the state of play in Lithuania's Recovery and Resilience Plan.

Finland: TradeMark Africa to present business opportunities for Finnish companies

TradeMark Africa (TMA) is an Aid-for-Trade organisation that aims to advance prosperity in Africa through increased trade. Its Executive Director David Beer will visit Finland in September. During his visit, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Africa Business Network of the Finland Chamber of Commerce will organise an event for companies where Executive Director Beer will describe TMA’s activities and the business opportunities available for Finnish companies.
