MEPs and UK parliamentarians will meet in Brussels on Monday and Tuesday to discuss EU-UK relations and foreign and security policy cooperation.
The fifth meeting of the EU-UK Parliamentary Partnership Assembly (PPA), established by the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) and agreed in December 2020, will be opened by the new co-chairs, MEP Sandro Gozi (Renew Europe, France) and UK MP Marsha de Cordova.
When: Monday 17 March and Tuesday 18 March 2025.
Where: SPINELLI building, room 3E2.
MEPs and UK parliamentarians will discuss the latest developments in EU-UK relations and the state of play within the Partnership Council, the body overseeing the implementation, application and interpretation of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement between the UK and the EU. They will also discuss EU-UK foreign policy and security cooperation in light of Russia’s continued war against Ukraine and growing geopolitical uncertainties, as well as trade and opportunities for young people on both sides of the English Channel.
Speakers expected to speak at the Assembly include European Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič and Nick-Thomas Symonds, UK Paymaster General, Minister for the Cabinet Office and Minister for the Constitution and European Union Relations.
The full meeting agenda will be available here.
You can follow all the meetings live here (Monday) and here (Tuesday).
A press point with the Chairs, Sandro Gozi (Renew Europe, France) and Marsha de Cordova, is scheduled for 13.00 CET on Tuesday, outside meeting room 3E2 in the European Parliament’s Spinelli building in Brussels.
Remote participation is not possible and the press point will be held in English. You can also watch it live here.
The EU-UK Parliamentary Partnership Assembly was created following the entry into force of the new Trade and Cooperation Agreement in January 2021. It acts as a forum for the European Parliament and the UK Parliament to exchange views on EU-UK relations. It can also request information from the Partnership Council – the main joint EU-UK body overseeing the implementation of the TCA – and make recommendations to it.
The Partnership Council is currently chaired by Maroš Šefčovič and Nick-Thomas Symonds.
