Today, the United Nations General Assembly has spoken very clearly. It has called for a just lasting and comprehensive peace in Ukraine.
This vote shows that the international community stands with Ukraine: 141 countries have voted with Ukraine.
The European Union and its Member States, all of them, have played their part, facilitating its text and working with countries from all regions of the world to advance this resolution.
I want to thank all countries that voted in favour for showing that they stand up with the United Nations Charter because at the end it was about it: to stand with the United Nations Charter.
This is an overwhelming majority of the international community and it confirms the very high level of support that Ukraine enjoys as victim of Russia´s aggression.
Russia has tried during the whole week to distract and disrupt the United Nations’ work with manoeuvres. Once again, it has failed.
We see that clearly on the votes. On the Russian side, there is a small handful of votes confirming that in the eyes of the world that the aggression against Ukraine needs to stop and it needs to stop now and open the door to a just sustainable and comprehensive peace.
