The fourth EU-US Trade and Technology Council (TTC) meeting will be held in Luleå on 30-31 May as part of the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Launched in June 2021, the TTC is the main forum for the US and the EU to coordinate approaches to key global trade, economic, and technology issues. The previous meetings were held in Pittsburgh, Paris and Washington DC. Sweden will host the meeting as part of the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the EU.
“I’m proud to announce that the fourth meeting of the TTC will take place in Luleå,” says Sweden’s Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Johan Forssell.
“In many ways, the TTC is a forum where we discuss how to meet challenges in implementing the green and digital transitions. Northern Sweden – and Luleå in particular – is the perfect venue to show how Sweden is dealing with many of these challenges.”
The TTC meeting will be co-chaired by European Commission Executive Vice-Presidents Margrethe Vestager and Valdis Dombrovskis, and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and Trade Representative Katherine Tai.
The Swedish Government will be represented by Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Johan Forssell, Minister for Foreign Affairs Tobias Billström and Minister for Energy, Business and Industry Ebba Busch.
