Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke today with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock. Secretary Rubio reaffirmed the strength and importance of the U.S.-German relationship for transatlantic peace and prosperity.  He and Foreign Minister Baerbock discussed deepening our ties across a wide range of mutual interests, including defense cooperation and stability in the Middle East and the Indo-Pacific.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke today with French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot.  Secretary Rubio reaffirmed the centrality of the U.S.-France alliance to the security and prosperity of the American people.  He and Foreign Minister Barrot celebrated the depth of our global cooperation and explored ways to further the U.S.-France partnership through close collaboration and consultation on shared priorities, including defense spending.

Both leaders expressed eagerness to begin working together immediately to further our many shared foreign policy objectives.  They affirmed the depth of the U.S.-UK Special Relationship and the crucial nature of our partnership in addressing issues like the conflict in the Middle East, Russia’s war against Ukraine, and China’s malign influence.  They also heralded joint initiatives, including the AUKUS partnership, which promotes a free and open Indo-Pacific that is secure and stable.
