Brussels, 25 September 2024

Today, six industry associations for gas distribution, transmission, import terminals and storage have launched a call to interested stakeholders to submit new and updated project information, to be included in the next update of their joint Hydrogen Infrastructure Map.

On 13 December 2022, CEDEC, ENTSOG, Eurogas, GD4S, GEODE, and GIE (in cooperation with European Hydrogen Backbone Initiative) launched a website visualising hydrogen projects in 2030, 2040 and 2050 in an interactive map. The map satisfies the European Commission’s request to visualise all hydrogen infrastructure projects collected under different existing processes in a form of a map” in their conclusions at the 36th European Gas Regulatory Forum in May 2022.

This map was developed using bottom-up collection of data for relevant infrastructure projects, including those for demand and production as well as third party promoters developing projects in consortia along the whole value-chain. The map currently includes approximately 500 hydrogen projects.

It is planned to update the map twice a year, in Q2 and Q4. Project promoters interested to include new project information or to update project details already provided in the map, are invited to submit their project information until 16 October 2024 using the Hydrogen Project Information online form availble on the Hydrogen Infrastructure map website.
