Brussels, 5 October 2022

The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of joint control of Tambur by Länsförsäkringar Bank AB, SBAB Bank AB, Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB (‘SEB’), Svenska Handelbanken AB (‘Handelbanken’) and Swedbank AB, all of Sweden, Danske Bank A/S, Sverige Filial (‘Danske Bank’) of Denmark, and Nordea Bank Abp (‘Nordea’) of Finland.

Tambur is a digital communication platform supporting the residential property transaction processes for banks and real estate agents in the Swedish market. Länsförsäkringar Bank, SBAB Bank, SEB, Handelsbanken, Swedbank, Danske Bank and Nordea are all banking groups active primarily in the Nordic countries, offering a wide range of financial services. The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns, given Tambur’s limited activities in the European Economic Area.

The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. More information is available on the Commission’s competition website, in the public case register under the case number M.10766.
