Brussels, 18 March 2025

The European Commission has approved a €122 million disbursement for Estonia’s Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRF), supporting key reforms and investments in sustainability and digital transformation. Estonia’s third payment request, submitted on 9 December 2024, includes 13 milestones and 5 targets, such as promoting sustainable transport, reducing the gender pay gap, and enhancing health system resilience.

The funds will support biogas infrastructure, the Rail Baltic viaduct project, and green tech initiatives aimed at improving resource efficiency and energy savings. 36 green technology projects are set for completion by mid-2026. Additionally, the payment will fund Estonia’s digital transformation, including the migration of public IT systems to a private cloud, strengthening digital resilience and security.

These performance-based investments are already in progress, driving Estonia toward a more sustainable and resilient future.
