Climate neutrality: 20 new cities receive EU Mission Label for their efforts

Today, the EU Mission Label was awarded to 20 cities that are part of the EU Mission for Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities, one of the EU Missions under Horizon Europe, the EU’s research and innovation programme. The Label recognises the cities’ plans to achieve climate neutrality by 2030 and aims to facilitate access to public and private funding towards that objective.

Eurostat data: How people interact with public authorities online

In 2023, 69% of EU citizens aged 16-74 have used a website or an app of a public authority in the preceding 12 months. The share varied greatly among EU countries, with highest shares recorded in Denmark (98%), Finland, the Netherlands and Sweden (all 95%). In contrast, the lowest shares were recorded in Romania (23%), Bulgaria (30%) and Germany (58%).
